Vegetarian Friendly
My favourite order... I call it, "The Dirty Vegetarian"
Little Havana, street salad, kettle chips and my top 5 favourite dessert Ice cream sandwich mess.
My first to go order was a disaster BUT when I called to complain the hostess was super helpful and actively asking questions to manager to help me out. They handled it gracefully. Mistakes happen.
Love this place! I approve. -

Pro's: Friendly and prompt service on a slow day. Cold beer. Brussels sprouts are excellent.
Cons: The quality of food does not fit in with the rest of canal street. All items you can grab at the store and cook at home. Ex: The chips, salsa, and guacamole all seem store bought. The meat was over cooked.
Overall: If you want a quick drink and app on the cheap, this place is solid. If you're looking for a quality sit down dining experience, this may not be your place. -

Saturday night after walking around the Car Show on canal street we stopped at Ricky's canteen. Sat at the bar. Great live music playing. We got there right before seven. They have a 4-7 happy hour. I may get this wrong, but I believe it's 2 dollars off drinks and food. Also while live music is playing appetizers are B1G1. Also it's a beer and wine place - no alcohol.
The bartender was great and very attentive. The live music was also great. Not too loud...but fun !
Wife had Sangria and I had the on draft beers. Sangria was delicious.
For appetizers, we had the ahi tuna nachos and the empanada. Both were delicious. We did only get one small empanada ..which technically was free, but if I had to pay the $6, I would think they should at least have 2 or 3.
For dinner, we each had one of their "hot poke" bowls. Wife had "the Ricky" and i had the "Redneck Islander". Both were delicious and the portion size was large. After the appetizers, we could have shared a bowl and been satisfied.
Overall a great experience and will go back again ... -

I came here with my mother for an early dinner. The place was very clean and tastefully decorated. Service was excellent and everyone was very welcoming.
We ordered the ahi nachos, the islander bowl, and the Ricky bowl. The wait time was very short, and everything was prepared with care. All dishes had good flavors and the ingredients were very fresh. My favorite was the ahi nachos, I could've eaten several!
What's on their menu is delicious, but the menu is small. A lot of poke places I've been to have the option to "create your own bowl", but they do change things it up a bit by having cold and warm bowl options.
I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu, and I recommend this place to any poke lovers! -

We were at the Christmas market and saw this place when we first arrived. So we decided to check it out for lunch and we are very happy we did. I got the 40 miles out bowl and he tuna was so fresh and delicious!! My husband got the Cuban báhn mi and devoured it before I could ask if he liked it. Lol The wee one got an empanada and we both tried it and that was really good as well. Plus, they have a great selection of beers and a few ciders!
The atmosphere was very chill and relax and the waiter was great.
I would definitely recommend this place and if we are back that way we would definitely go again!
